SERP
What is SERP (Search Engine Results Page)?
Search Engine Results Page is the page displayed in a search engine that we see as a result of entering a specific keyword. The displayed results can be divided into free, also known as organic, and paid, also known as non-organic.
What exactly is SERP?
The definition of SERP itself is not difficult or complicated. It is best described as the page on which search results are displayed. In the case of the Google search engine, results can be divided into free and paid. Organic results are displayed based on website positioning.
What we see in the search results in the basic SERP version consists of elements such as:
- page header or title,
- website URL address,
- a short text pulled directly from the page or a meta description that was previously defined
For some time now, Google has enriched SERP with additional elements depending on what keywords were entered. Thanks to this, after entering a specific phrase, we are shown, for example, the definition of a given word or a map with the service provider's location. In the case of a store, we can browse products in the form of an image gallery or in a box where we can choose, for example, the desired shoe size and a link to the exact location where we can buy it.
The purpose of SERP is therefore to satisfy the user's need by providing them with information about the keyword they entered.
