A commercial offer is a proposal to sell or purchase goods or services, which also specifies the main terms of the agreement between the parties. In practical terms, a commercial offer is a catalog of products or services with their descriptions and price list, containing an invitation to establish cooperation.
Elements that a commercial offer must contain
- title, logo and name of the company that is the recipient of the offer - placed preferably on the first page of the offer
- information and contact details of the company presenting the offer - it is also worth providing the contact details of the person whom the representative of the interested company can contact
- table of contents - necessary when the offer consists of many pages, it will make it easier for the reader to navigate through the offer
- description of the assortment - referring not only to its features, but also to the methods and techniques used
- price list - even if it only contains price ranges, it will be a significant reference point for the customer; when providing prices, however, remember that they should be calculated for a specific customer
- issues related to payment terms and delivery of the product or service, offer validity period, possible additional costs, warranties
Practical tips to increase offer effectiveness
- when creating an offer, remember that it must address the needs and expectations of the recipient - if it is too general, it will not attract their attention and they will consider reading it a waste of time
- focus the offer on specific issues most important from the customer's perspective - the more extensive the offer and the more pages it contains, the less comfortable it is for the recipient to browse
- include a CTA element that will motivate the customer to take action, e.g., scheduling a meeting or contacting a salesperson - offer a special discount or add something for free
- send offers only to decision-makers in the company - if you target a general company email, it is very likely that your message will not be opened at all or forwarded to the right person
