Cold Calling

It is an attempt to engage potential customers through telephone contact with people who have had no prior contact with the company or have never heard of it. It is worth noting that these people do not expect such a call.

Salespeople use cold calling to present a product or service and encourage its purchase or to establish cooperation.

Cold calling is not as scary as it seems

In the book “Start Your Own Business, Sixth Edition: The Only Startup Book You'll Ever Need,” the authors suggest treating “cold calls” as introductory conversations. The goal of such a conversation should be to present yourself and the company in a good light. Before making the first call, prepare properly. Don't call blindly, without a plan. Knowing who you want to talk to will make it easier to prepare for the conversation.

Cold calling - remember this:

1. Be sure to identify the contact person.

2. Prepare a conversation script. Don't memorize it. Establish topics you want to cover, so you can smoothly navigate through the conversation.

3. Determine the best time for the call. Knowing what your interlocutor does, determine the best time for the conversation.

4. Don't stress! Cold calling is often treated as an ineffective and time-consuming strategy. Nothing could be further from the truth! Well-prepared cold calling can be an excellent source that generates sales meetings for you. Everything depends on your attitude.
