Target Audience

What is a Target Audience?

These are the people who will ultimately be the recipients of your communication and may be interested in your product. The target audience is defined considering demographic, geographic, psychographic, and behavioral criteria. Defining your target is the first and most important step you should take when planning the promotion of your brand.

How to define your Target Audience?

  1. Demographic criteria. Is your product for women or men? How old is your customer? What is their financial situation? To make it easier to define, create several personas for the definition.
  2. Geographic criteria. Where are your recipients from? Big cities? Or maybe from rural areas? Do they travel by car or bus?
  3. Psychographic criteria. What lifestyle does your customer lead? What are their interests? What are their goals and dreams? What problems do they struggle with?
  4. Behavioral criteria. What does your recipient's purchasing process look like? What marketing activities influence them?

Why is it so important to precisely define your Target Audience?

If you assume you are directing your message to everyone, you will not reach anyone.

Knowing exactly who your customer is, you can choose the style, language, and communication channels appropriate for your target. You won't waste time or money on misguided advertising. You will use well-thought-out arguments and convince the potential customer to buy, because you will know how to reach them.
