Sales Pipeline

A pipeline is a graphical representation of the position occupied by a customer in the customer life cycle or sales process. Depending on the adopted model, a pipeline can consist of a different number of stages.

Running the sales process as a pipeline, or sales funnel, aims to facilitate and visualize the position where the customer currently is.

What does a sales pipeline consist of?

The standard sales process starts with a potential customer. This is the initial stage, which involves gathering basic contact data and additional information that will help us guide the potential customer through all stages of the process.

The subsequent stages are usually:

- first contact or establishing contact with the customer,

- presenting the offer,

- negotiations,

- signing the contract,

- fulfilling the contract terms.

This is what an ideal process might look like, during which the customer smoothly passes through individual stages. The essence of the sales funnel is to carefully monitor potential stages, which will help avoid potential problems that could affect the company's operations.
